Love knows no genetics...

"It's in their facial expressions and smiles--something only shared love can bring about."

I saw this quote recently on a friend of mines facebook page. She recently adopted the sweetest little girl and another adopted mom mentioned this in the context of those who share no genetics looking like each other.

While Marcus and I are not adoptive parents at all, and donor sperm, is not in any way equivalent to the adoption journey we do know that love supersedes genetics.

I often think that Eli and Emerson look like their dad and goodness knows they act like him.

They share similar mannerisms, they laugh and smile, and above all they adore and love one another. I can't help but think that there's a great deal of truth in this statement:

"It's in their facial expressions and smiles--something only shared love can bring about."

Eli and Emerson are fully 100% ours.
Created by the two of us,
So wanted and prayed for,
 continually molded,
in and through our love
each day as they grow.

I don't know how Eli and Emerson will react to their origins as they grow and get older but I do know they will never know a day without love.

AMEN! I saw that too and thought it was wonderfully said. In some ways I do think the DS path is similar to adoptions.
