We're moving again...

In case you weren't keeping track we move a lot.

May 2010 - Moved from CT after graduating from school to our hometown
August 2010 - Moved to a new city to start my first post grad- school job
June 2011 - Moved to serve as the pastor in my first church
June 2012 - Moving once again to serve at a new church

In my denomination pastors are appointed to churches by the bishop. We go where we are called and so in just one month we are packing everything up again.

It's bittersweet. I have grown very fond of my current congregation. So many relationships made and it's so very hard to leave them. I'm invested in their lives and their families and I'm already mourning the loss of those relationships.

I am excited for the new position and the new challenges that this new church will bring. I just hope Eli & Emmy will transition okay.

As they get older I'm mindful that moving will get increasingly difficult.

My other hope is that Marcus can find work in our new area. There are many more job opportunities so I hope it will be a positive change for all of us. Once we work all the kinks out.

I can't imagine moving that often, particularly once you're just starting to settle in to a town and congregation. How can you develop any deep/real relationships with parishioners.

Praying for you guys!

We moved June 2010 (new city/state), August 2010 (2nd new city--in a 2nd country), and are scheduled to move again in September 2012, so I sort of feel your pain. But I'm willing to bet that if the Bishop is moving you already, it's because you are so fabulous and he wants to give you a new challenge! Best wishes with the move and with the many transitions. It's my least favorite thing to do!
